The United States of America is a nation of immigrants. Through the study of immigration, you will appreciate that all immigrants face the same hopes and challenges that you and your family face.  You have finished reading a novel as well as several short stories and poems about recent and established immigrants in the United States. Your role is to investigate current policies and to create new policies that may help immigrants to adapt more easily to the American society

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

Task:

1.      Complete all worksheets.

2.      Write a one-page report on your findings.

3.      Give an oral presentation of how a character’s assimilation process would improve due to governmental policies (give 3 specific examples from the reading material – novel, short stories, poems).

This PPA WebQuest will help you understand the difficulties faced by all immigrants in assimilating to the American culture.  As Public Policy Analyst you will have identified the issues, researched the current policies, and created an alternative viable policy.  As a result of this project you will have learned to identify and improve public policies that affect you as a member of the American society.
