PROJECT #1

On-Line Student Debates:  This project is for those classes who wish to participate in a debate on a legal value conflict with another class somewhere else in the United States.

Time Line (8 Weeks)

 Step by Step Instructions:

Part I:  Select a topic.

Part II:  Students research the issue.

Part III:  Students prepare for the debate.

Part IV:  Conduct the debate.

Part V:  Poll students.

Part VI:  Reverse positions and complete Parts III and IV again.

Part VII:  Poll students again.

Part VIII:  Share what you learned with your partner class.

Part IX: (optional)  Students peer-evaluate each other.
 
 

PROJECT #2

Do you want to be a student investigative reporter?:  This project is for a group of students in one class who want to participate with another group of students in a project with another class using interview techniques.

Time Line

 Step by Step Instructions:

Part I:  Select a topic

Part II:  Contact your partner class.

Part III:  Conduct your interviews.

Part IV:  Email your partner class with your findings

Part V:  Prepare your report

Part VI:  Present the report to your class

Part VII:  Make the report available over the Internet
 
 

PROJECT #3

Questions of the Month:  A grade-specific question of a current issue.  Students can send in their opinions on a relevant topic and see the responses of others.
