Introduction

TIPS is Teaching Interdisciplinary Problem Solving Through Educational Technology.  This workshop will help you write a webquest that will combine content information in your subject area with technology skills to help students learn real world problem solving strategies.  How is this possible?  Are you magicians?

The answer is, “Yes!”  When you have the right resources at your disposal, anything is possible.   TIPS teachers use the PPA six step model.  Go to: http://www.maxwell.syr.edu/plegal/ppae/ppae1.html Here you will follow the interactive PPA process.

Task:

You and your team have awakened from an extended nap and now you have discovered that the world has changed!  Now students get their lessons from Internet sites that each school transmits via satellite to the classroom.  The very good news is you have not lost your job!  The other good news is that your job is to create really interesting and challenging lessons in the WebQuest format. You can find examples of webquests from the following site:

Process:

1. This would be a great time to discuss lessons with teachers in your content area.  Form teams with teachers in the same content area.

2. With content material in mind that you would like to use this semester, complete the 6 step PPA.
