|
Page 10 2nd paragraph of discipline
code for students conduct |
What are the advantages of this policy (consider effectiveness, costs, enforcement, public acceptance):
|
There is a policy in place, however vague: gives us leeway to play with
the policy to work in favor of the individual teacher. |
What are the disadvantages of this policy (consider the effectiveness, costs, enforcement, public acceptance):
|
The policy is not specific enough/
vague. The consequences/punishment is unclear. We do not always enforce it.
Ex: being suspended for disrespect. Three detention merits a suspension. The chronic minor offenders are not being
affected by this policy. It is costing us money when phone calls have to be
made, when the policy could have been enforced. |
Based on your evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages, should the current policy be totally replaced, strengthened, or improved? What advantages, if any, from the current policy should be retained? What disadvantages, if any, should be eliminated?
|
This policy should both be improved and strengthened. |
