Teachers spend a lot of time on discipline which impacts on instructions and learning.

 

The existing instructional program does not meet the needs of those students that are struggling.

 

Program should allow teachers more flexibility in determining what instructional program is best for their students.

 

Lack of academic and social support for new arrivals who have no prior schooling and are having difficulty adjusting to new environment.

1-     Economic distress 2-Family Problems associated with poverty and immigration-3-Loss of  extended family to provide support. 4- Single parents families often headed by very young parents or very old grandparents.

2-     Lack of positive role models, especially male. 6-Parents inability due to their own lower educational levels 7-Parental confusion about the new curriculum.
