Respect and Language at Booker T.

Briefly list several broad underlying factors that contribute to the problem that you have identified:

5 Categories- Student, Staff, Parents, School, and Society

Students: lack of respect for females, angry kids (displaced anger), issues at home

Staff: less experienced, loss of unity, resolve being worn down (pick and choose the battles), not on the same “page”, different teacher expectations

Parents: lack of guidance of children. Lack of support for teachers, personal use of same inappropriate language

School: after setting parameters there is no consistency in structure, follow thru and consequences, size of school (large), lack of clear vision, loss of community

Society: loss of personal interaction, children multi-tasking, loss of community, expansion of exposure of kids to “life inputs.”
