Worksheet2: Gathering Evidence of the Problem

Date: November 15, 2006       Group Members:    MS 322

Your problem (phrase):

Students not paying attention in class.

Present evidence that a problem exists. Be as specific as possible and cite at least one source of data:

One hundred percent of the attendees verified the problem exists.

Often students will say, “What are we doing?” or “I don’t know how to do that.” even though the information was just modeled.

When the teacher asks a question about what was just taught and modeled, the students cannot answer the question.

Many students have not copied anything into their notebooks from the mini-lesson.

Students may have some notes, however they don’t know anything about the lesson and have not asked any questions for clarification.
